Earth’s Recuperative Powers. IS THERE A CYCLICAL PROCESS? (United Press Association—By Eioctxie . Telegraph—Copyright*' (Received November 11, 5.5 p.m.) . , LONDON, November 10. Suggesting that the world had no beginning, and will have no end, Sir Oliver Lodge, addressing the Faraday Society, said: “What we have learnt about the atom shows that matter is going out into radiation. The question is; “Is the process reversible? Can radiation return to matter? A high temperature would be needed, but 1 consider reversion possible. The universe may have a cyclical process, without beginning and end. One has to speak vaguely, but it is a thing for which to watch. The Earth has recuperative power, which make it possible to. endure for all time.”
