CUSTOMS BILL.
NEW CLAUSES DISAPPROVED. By Telegraph—Press Associatioa, NAPIER, October 6. The Napier Chamber ot Commerce to-day resolved that this Chamber strongly protests against the introduction of'clauses in the Customs Amiendment Bill, giving a Collector of Customs power to regulate, clearances of "oods, and the payment of additional duty on goods already cleared, it being considered that such action is an inteiferenee and a restriction upon trade, and too arbitrary a, power to be placed in the hands of the Collector of Cus* toms.
