'Sir George Clifford was a passenger for Dunedin by yesterday's express. Archdeacon J. A. Julius returned to Titnaru from Christchurch yesterday. Mr S. J. Taylor, left Timaru yesterday by the northbound express. Mr E. J. Righton, managing director of New Zealand Picture Supplies Ltd., arrived in Timaru last evening, Mr J. O. Coop, president of the Canterbury A. and P. Association, has been nominated by that body for thfe vacant seat on the Meat Boa I'd. A cable message from London reports that the interment of the body of Sir Arthur Myers was carried out in the Jewish cemetery at Willesden. Fifty were present including Sir James Parr, Sir Thomas Mackenzie, Sir Francis Bell,, and Sir James Mills. Hie wreaths included three from the New Zealand Government, for High Commissioner and the Auckland City Council and citizens. Somo forty builders and represehtativse of allied trades met at the Wentworth rooms on Tuesday evening ot say good-bvc to Mr J. Munro, who will leave Timaru to-day on a visit to Glasgow, his native city. Mr G. Hadlee presided, and proposed tho toast of “Our Guest.” Mr J. ’l’. Hunt, on behalf of the assembled guests, presented Air Alunro with a set of binoculars, as a token of their esteem. Mr Munro, in a happy speech, thanked his colleagues and the. various speakers for their kind expressions, and stated that he ’ was fully satisfied with his adopted town (Timaru) as a residence. He hoped to bo back in about six months, to renew acquaintance with his many friends.
