PROBLEM OF AMATEUR STATUS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, September 17. The “Westminster Gazette,” pointing out that tlie Football Association was now in conflict with Australia, as well as European countries regarding amateurism, expresses the opinion that Australia should jo n the Continent in taking a bold line. Believing that payment is a matter of self-determina-tion, there will likely bo a great upheaval in the football world. It is not certain that the Association will be victorious.
