Hamilton (Fairlie) won the NEW ZEALAND MOTOR CUP at Muriwai Beach, Auckland, at an average speed of 81.3 miles per hour with 7 turns, and also established an AUSTRA.LASIAN RECORD covering five miles at an average speed of 100.27 miles per hour. (This is the highest speed over attained in the Southern Hemisphere.)
