SCHOOL FOOTBALL

To the Editor of the “Timaru Herald.” Sir, —Permit me to suggest to the School Teachers Association that intcr-school lootball contests this yeai, be contined to the Annual Schools seven-a-sido tournament, i. 0., that they drop the regular full team fixtures. The hoys have had a superabundance of recreation during the past few months, and the adoption of my suggestion will help thorn'to make up the big leeway in their studies. Parents generally recognize that these inter school contests, mot only take a great deal of the teachers’ time, but are also a very annoying distraction to them in' their studies. After all it is only the most physically lit who take part in theso : contests, and I imagine that teachers will wolcomo the chance of giving more attention to the more delicate.— I am, etc., . PARENT .
