REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION REFORMED. A meeting convened by the South Canterbury Rugby Union was hold m Hutchison's rooms mst evening, to consider the iormation of a Retorees Association, or the resuscitation ot tne former Association, whose members disbanded fast jear. Ihe president of tne Union (Mr Id. H. Eraser) look the chair, and thero was a fair attendance of old and new retorees. Tho chairman, after explaining the object of ti:© meeting, suggested that tho members ot tho old _ Association should rescind their previous motion and g*-vy on. Mr \V. A. Gumming said that ho would give every in reforming tho Association, and iie hoped {hat new members would coma forv/ard and that tho old ones would carry oil. Air P. Cosgrove and Air J. Connor also favoured tlio resuscitation of the Association, tho latter saying that they could rest assured that tho Rugby Union would give every assistance. Air Connor then moved: “That the motion disbanding tlio-Association be rescinded.” Air Fraser then asked Air Connor to take tho chair. After Air A. H. Clemens had spoken at length oil the events cl' the previous year, the motion was carried unanimously. On behalf of the Union, Air Fraser congratulated members on decision, and promised that the Union would render every assistance. Alessrs O. Bracefield and AV. A. Cumming were appointed to assist the Alanagoment Committee to arrange referees for this week’s games. Alessrs L. H. Buchanan, C de Joux, J. P. Jackson, Grey, and Rev. G. D. Falconer were elected members of the Association.
