YV. Virtue, Queen Street, Timaru. The Rev. lather D. H Hurley, S.M., officiated, and celebrated the Nuptial Mass, during which beautiful choral musical was phtjed by Miss Eileen Denuehy. Gounod’s ■* \vc Maria” was artistically rendered bv Mrs T. W. Lynch, admirably accompanied bv a violin obligato by Miss Kitty Byrne. The bride, who was given awav by her father, looked very charming in a beautiful draped gown et cream satin charmnnte. -i- long tiain of silver tissue .lined with pale pink georgette fell from the shoulders. a tulle veil with touches of orange blossom was worn, and she earned a shower bouciuet of white chiisanthemums: The only bridesmaid, her sister wore a dainty early Victorian frock of midnight blue satin marocain with bertha of blue georgette and tulle veil to match her frock. She carried a posy of autumn-tinted cli' vsanthemums. Mr .John \ lrnie, brother of the bridegroom, attended as best man. The reception was held at the 'Wentworth, when relatives of the bride and bridegroom, and the Dev. Fathers Hurley, S.M., and Barr.-;, SM lhe former of whom presided, we’re’ present. Tho newly-wedded couple left later by car for the north, the bride wearing a smart lawn gaberdine costume and a becoming fiat' to match.
COL WILL —HARKIS. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at Woodlands Street Aiethodist Church, on Alarcli iO, wfien Aliss Alice Emily Winifred Harris. second youngest daughter of Air R. Harris, Timaru, was married to Air Richard Ernest Colwili, only son of Air J. Colwiil, Lands borough. The church was tastefully decorated by girl friends of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Eeatherstone (Geraldine), assisted by the Rev. li. J. Odell. Aliss Ivy Harris presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was daintily attired in cream satin marocain, with the usual veil and orange blossom, and carried a white shower bouquet of roses and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaid, Aliss Katie Harris (sister of the bride) wore a pretty frock of apricot satin with angel sleeves of georgette, black and silver hat, and carried a bouquet. Air Dave AVallaee was best man. Alter the ceremony the guests were entertained at the “Ye Goode lntcnte.” Later Air and Airs Colwili left for the north, the bride travelling in a fawn costume, beautifully braided, and blue toque. AYESTAWAY—AIiLLAII, St. David's Presbyterian Church, Leeston, was recently tiie scene of a pretty wedding, when Ruby, eldest daughter of Air and Airs S. U. Aiiliar, Inveil, was married to Percy Westaway, of Pleasant Point, South Canterbury. The Rev. AY. H. P. AlcKenzie was the officiating minister, and Miss J. Al. AYebstor presided at the organ. The bi*ide 3 who entered the church on the arm of her father, woio a becoming frock of ivory satin charmante, beautifully embroideied with silver beads and finished at the side with a large silver buckle. Hei veil was arranged mob cap style and held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms and gold leaves. She carried a bouquet of white and gold novel s with tulle streamers to match. Aliss Dolly Alillar, who attended hoi sister as bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of gold satin marocain, richly embroidered with jade and gold beads. Her hat was of gold lace and jade satin, finished with long jade streamers and she carried a bouquet of autumn tints. Mr 33. T. Roper, of Kirwee, attended the bridegroom. After the wedding, Air and Mrs Alillar held a reception at their residence, Irwell, where only immediate relatives were present. Later, when Air and Airs AVestaway left on their honeymoon, which is being spent at Rotorua, the bride was wearing a smart navy' tailored costume and hat of fawn and jade.
