MR KOLLER REPLIES.

To the Editor of the “Timarui Herald.” Sir.—Your editoral comment on my letter of January 14, carries its own condemnation to the minds of the intelligent readers of the “Herald, ana to me the others don’t matter. But when you go out of your way to attack the editor of a Labour journal —presumably the “Maoriland Worker' —I must protest that your charges .of scurrility are, to put it mildly, t if svllabically, tudes.” You assert that this editor commonly refers to “the average employer as a bloodsucker, which assertion, if true, should be capable of proof. Let us have the proof. I deny that the edited of the “Maoriland Worker specialises in attacking political opponents by introducing personakties—that is the penchant of capitalistic editors—he exposes and condemns the will or our social organisation, and endeavours to point tho way to a better system. Perait me also to refer to .your article in to-day’s issue, dealing with theelection of the Workers’ Representative on the Arbitration Court, in which you extol Mr M. J. Reardon, and presume to advise Unionists to elect him to the vacant office. If Unionists are not hopeless imbeciles, they ought to know that what the ‘Herald wants can he no good to thorn, and apart from that, every Unionist, ofthe name, knows the history of Mr Rendon’s recent career so well, that ne merely laujghs at the “Heralds suggestions.-! am, ROLLER. January 17, 1923- . . (Mr- Holler is suffering from inaccuracies of presumption. .We did not and do not ever mention that Labour organ he refers to. As far as* Mr Reardon is concerned, Mr Roller’s love for Red Labour -wpuld naturally preclude his supporting a rational Labourite. And more—we do not advise unionists; we put the case clearly before them. YVe try to show them what the Alkance of Labour is—a hotbed of extremists.—Editor “Timaru Herald. ]
