AIRSHIPS.
IMPERIAL SERVICE. By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association, Received 5.4 5 p.m., Oct. 7th. LONDON, Oct. G. The Hon. A. H. Ashbolt, Tasmanian Agent-General, interviewed, slated that negotiations with, the Government had been continued in reference to airships. Since the Imperial Conference the matter had been taken up by himself and those associated with him at the point where it was left by the Dominion Prime ■Ministers. “Satisfactory progress ha 3 been made, but while it is inevitable that negotiations cannot be completed pending the decisions of the Dominion Legislatures, pioneering work lias proceeded.” R3S NO DETERRENT. Mr Ashbolt added that the loss of the R3B had not deterred the Government or the promoters of the Imperial Air Service from continuing their efforts too establish a service on a practicable basis. Substantial advances had been made as recently as last week, in anticipation of favourable replies from the Dominions.
