The Storm was placed in dry dock at Lyttelton on Tuesday morning for cleaning and painting, and was expected to come out on Wednesday morning; but after going into dock it was found necessary to carry out- some repairs. The vessel was expected to leave Lyttelt'or. on Saturday lor Duuedin to load for way ports and Wanganui.
Captain T. Couper, second mnte of ihe Storm, who has been ashore at Lyttelton for tho past five weeks on sick leave, lias now recovered, and has rejoined the vessel.
Captain W. Manning, wit was for many years in the service of tho Union Steam Ship Company, Ltd.., is at present temporarily filling the position of harbourmaster at Picton. The Niagara, from Auckland, arrivf d V't Sydney on Saturday evening. Melbourne reports the arrival of the Kaiapoi from New Zealand and the sailing on Saturday of the Paloona for Bluff.
