EXHIBITION AT. TIMARU. The Sockburn Aviation Company is mapping out a route from Christehurch t<o lnvercargill, along' which Mr C. M- Hill (chief instructor at-Sockbiirn) will take an aeroplane, •'stopping at-the:' various centres* to givV exuibrtions ,of Hying. With this object in .view Messrs Hill and. C. t AY-.' Heryey are making a. motor tour picking out suitable landing places -along the route. These gentlemen arrived izi Timaru on Monday afternoon and yesterday with Mr H. H. Fraser went in search-of a landing place for Timarii, finally selecting the, racecourse at Washdyke. The Jockey Club's consent having been secured, it was decided to hold an, exhibition on the racecourse oh Thursday, February ]3th. Short trips for passengers will also be arranged, and the Mayor (Mr James Maling) has consented to he Mr Hill's first ger on that "day. It is thought that the exhibition will commence at 2.30 p.m., and a. special train, has been arranged'for, to leave Timaru at 2 o'clock. Mr Hill will first; do some flying "stunts," to.be followed by passenger flights. Mr Fraser lias been appointed the Company's 'agent hero.' and flights maybe booked with him. Mr B. Tripp has already booked two seats. Passages maybe booked from. Ashbiirton = to Timaru, Timaru to Onmaru,and on the return journey Timaru to Ashburton. Messrs Hill and Hcivev left for Oamaru yesterday afternoon, where flights will be given the same as in Tim'aVu.
