Browning, a. voluntary worker during the epidemic, died at the Quarantine Station. Sister Bailsford is still dangerously ill. Fourteen cases are in the. hospital on the island, one dangerous. ; . THE NAYUA RELEASED. ! WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. The Navua, from San Francisco, was released from quarantine this morning. ON THE WEST COAST. GREYMOUTH. Dec. 19. In connection with the influenza fatalities, the Cobden Ratepayers' Association passed the following resolution: "That in cases of distress arising out of the_ recent epidemic, where a, mortgage is held in private hands. the Government should .crive facilities to assist mortgagers to retain their homes, and, if desired, transfer the mortgage to more favourable terms." Influenza has completely disappeared here, and the weather conditions are ideal. WESTPOR.T, Dec. 19. The Wcstporfc Harbour Board will hold an inquiry regarding the recent lvakapo incident, when the steamer put back to Nelson with influenza on board, and the second mate, Duncan died.
