In August, 1914, the Postmaster of Christiania published the following Note, which has not had tine attention it deserves: 'During the last Few days a quantity of pcsital matter destined for various European countries has been returned from Germany. These letters had nob been opened, but had been held back a long time, although sent from here as early as July 23.' " The DagVad remarks that, on July 24, the German railways had therefore been too busy with more vital things for the mails to be attended to.
