"SOCCER" FOOTBALL
Tiraaru A met Timaru B yesterday Oil the North End Park, the" B team winning by one goal to nil. This was the most evenly contested game this season, and was greatly appreciated by a large number of spectators. A team won the toss and defended the northern goal. The B forwards charged down the field with the ball at the toe. but were stopped by the A halfbacks. Give and take play was the order for a considerable time, and at half time no score liad been registered. After about two minutes play" in the second spell a, corner was awarded to B. Sliutt put in a splendid kick, and Sligo headed the ball between the .sticks. The rest of the spell was exceedingly fast, but no further score resulted, and tho game ended Timaru B 1, Timaru A 0. Temuka v. Zingari._Tl.us game was also very even, ending in a draw, 2 goals each. Zingavi travelled to Teitrufca, but wero unfortunate in not getting,, a. full team away, being two men short. Had they liad their full number the result might have been more in their favour. Goals wero scored by Doyio (2) for Zingari, and Jones and Childs for Temuka. Members of the Timaru Association Club are reminded that a special general meeting will be held in Budd's tea j;ooms on Monday at 7.30 sharp. All those interested ill the club are invited to be present.
