The question of some of the Pacific Islands being taken over by Australia would become pressing in the future., but so far the question has not been considered by the Government. N.S. BYE-ELECTIONS. . SIDNEY, August 16. Both sides are confident of winning to-day 3 bye-elections. The campaign has been conducted with extreme vigour and considerable bitterness and will he a fight to a finish. It is considered probable that the Labour Party will win one if not both seats'.
