WOODBURY NOTES.
(From Our, o\yn Correspondent.) Last week the weather was fine on. Monday, .Wednesday. Friday and Saturday, but wet on Tuesday and -very wet on Thursday. To mate up somewhat /for their disoppointment of Thursday, a siriaE local demonstration in honour of the King's Coronation was arranged for the school children on Saturday. They were assembled at 1.30 p.m., marched through the village, with banners and ; fiags flying, to the school,, where, alter, suiting patriotic songs, games were played and races were run. Then an abundant tea was ejijoyed, provisions haying been sent up from G-eraldine by the Coronation Committee. . Afbar tea, the chairman of. mittee. Mr Fißeld, distributed the Coronation medals. Cheer.? were lustily given for tho King, the chairthe ladies, and the teachers, and' all joined in singinng the National Anthem. The weather was fine and bright, the edhool - gaily deoorated with flags, and all seamed to enjoy themselves thoroughly. - The Miniature Rifle Club concluded on Saturday last a two days' competition for a' trophy (a pea-rifle) presented by Mr W. P. Turton. The "winner was A. Ridhes, with a score "off the rifle" of 136 (37 and 39).
