FINLAND is by Bill of Portland, son of St. Simon and Electric Light, and for many seasons the leading sire m Australia, from Fishwife, daughter of King of the Anglers and Nameless, the dam of Creel and other winners. FINLAND is a brown horse, showing great power and quality, and has proved himself a successful sire, as well as a great racehorse. Ho won amongst other races the V.R.C. St. Leger, Maribyrnong Plate, Sires Produce Stakes, Goodwood Handicap, etc., and was second in the Ascot Vale Stakes, Caulfield Guineas, and Caulfield Futurity Stakes. In the season just closed Finland was ninth in the list of winning sires with a total of £4853. He is the sire of numerous winners, including Bobrikoff, Nyland, Lapland, Chief Lochiel, Helianthes, Merry-Lass, Outlander, Portland, Restless, Vasa, Wardland, White Cockade, Zero, and Scotch Plaid.
