OTAGO UNIVERSITY.

Per Press Association. DUNEDIX, July 3. The distribution of diplomas to the successful students, of Otago University took place this afternoon. There -was a large attendance. The Eev. J. C. Andrew, Vice Chancellor of the New Zealand University; presided, and in his opening address made some brief references to his connection, with Otago in, the early days. The Registrar's list showed the .following diplomas for last year:—Doctor of Medicine, 1;■ M. A., 8; (Honours in Arts, 8; Honours in; Science,'l; Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, 10; 8.A., 7; 8.5.C., 5; B.S.C. in Mining Engineering, 1; Bachelor of Laws, 1. Professor Gilray was the chief speaker, and. regret was generally expressed at the absence of the Chancellor. The students held their usual capping carnival in the evening. ' - . :
