ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
Per Press Association. GISBORNE, August 21. A young man named W-. Blair is be : lieved to have been drowned in a water hole on Julius Catsar's property. He was riding after cattle, and suddenly disappeared, his horse emerging from the creek, wet. Blair's body has not yet been found. The 'body of the young man Blair was found this afternoon in. a hole which had 15 feet of water in it. An inquest was held, and a verdict of " accidentally drowned while mustering cattle" was returned. At Tokomaru Bay this morning Benjamin Taylor was helping to shift a blacksmith's shop in sections. A fierce gust of wind tilted one of the sections over. It fell on him, and it was feared that he was very seriously injured. Later reports state that his spine is uninjured, and a few days' rest ; may set him up again. WESTPORT, August 21. • Mrs Sueon McLaughlin, a resident of about 20 years in this district, was found dead sitting in a chair at a table. She lived by herself. All her relations are believed to be in the Old Country.
