Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, April 24. The contract dior the whole of the machinery at Commissioners Flat has been let for £3993. Tenders for excavation cf the dam will be called immediately. The keystone borer is prospecting the Mikonui river ground. Prospects were obtained at 17 feet in light wash. The directors of Beefton United visited the claim to select a pontoon site, the construction c£ which is to be commenced immediately. The dredge machinery is being made. The Kohinoox* Extended is re-erecting the pontoons which were damaged by the late flood with great energy. The. keystone borer is to test several properties in the Mikonui district. A start is to be made this week with the Prince of Wales pontoons, the timber for the Aylmer Lead pontoons being at Totara lagoon. The Totara River Company's dredge is reported to be oa highly payable ground. The Day Dawn Company's application for reserves at Donnelly's Creek was granted at the Boss Warden's Court.
