The Municipal Franchise R»lorm Extension Act Amendment Bill was read a second time, on the motion of the Minister of Education, who said the measure was the outcome of a promise m-ide on the passage of the first Bill, a fortnight ago, when exception was taken to the short period thecorporations wouid have to mest before the election to revise the rolls. The new Bill proposed to revert to the time under the Municipal Corporations Act, namely one month. „ The Council rose at 3.20 p.m.
