TENNIS.

A very enjoyable match took place on Saturday afternoon at Temuka between the Victoria Park Tennis Club and a team from the Timaru Terrace Tennis Club. The weather was beautifully iine, and the attendance of lovers of the game and their friends was very good. The asphalt courts were m splendid order, and the match resulted m a substantial and well deserved victory for the home club. The visiting team was somewhat weak, and a more even and interesting game would have resulted if both clubs had their best and best m the field. The ladies of Victoria Park provided very acceptable lunch and afternoon tea and treated their visitors m a generous and pleasant manner.
