The match between Timaru and Waimate on Thursday last, ended m a draw. Waimate going m first scored 95, and at the call of time Timaru had made 66 for 8 wickets. A match was played on, Thursday last between the Timaru Main School and the Ashburton Borough School, and resulted m a win for the local school by 8 runs. ABhburton batted first, and made
80 runs (Denshire 25, Wilkie 16). Orwin, rvlaleolnison, and Kernich shared bowling honours. The Main School replied with 68 (Orwin 14, Palliser 12, and Knowles 10.) Revell and Johnstone bowled best for Aehburton.
