ANTI-CHINESE LEAGUE.
(By TklegraphJ CHRISTCHURCH, June 7. At a meeting of delegates from the various political and labour societies, it was decided to form an anti-Chinese League. The objects of the league were adopted to the following effect: — To educate public opinion to assist m all social movements and support all legislative efforts m the direction of restricting Chinese and other undesirable competitors m the colonial labour markets, by raising the poll-tax on Chjnese to at least £100; by enforcing the inspection of premises occupied by Chinese and other Asiatics ; by absolutely pro« hibiting the naturalisation of any Chinese or other Asiatics ; by urging the Government to refuse mail sub-? sidies to any steamer or other vessel carrying as the whole or part of the crew any Asiatic, Lascar, or Kanaka ; by the members pledging themselves, and inducing others, not to deal with any Asiatic grower or vendor of any marketable products, or with any European ji-etojfer who supplies such products, or with any trader wlip s,el]s or causes to be sold any goods except sucH aspou.ld not be made by our own workers, manufactured or produced by Chinese and other allied rapes,
