Ttmaru Herald Office, Saturday evening. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited (per Mr J. Mundell, auctioneer), report on the horse market at Tattersall's yards, on Saturday :— Our entries comprised 44 horses, 2 cows, implements, harness, etc. The attendance of those interested was good throughout the sale, and we quote prices realised as follows: — Draughts, young, with trial,. £14 10s, £15 to £17; do., light and aged. £9 10s, £11 to £12 ; light harness sorts', £9 15s to £10 10s. Thoroughbreds and racehorses— On account Mr T. Daly we submitted his stud to public competition, but failed to reach the reserve placed on them. Invader, by Digby Grand — Lubra, was keenly competed for, and passed at 47 guineas. On account Mr J. Sullivan we submitted the following racehorses :— Pony Moore, Rotomahana, and Roseleaf . The latter we sold at a price to be withheld. Hackneys were dull of sale. At the skin sale on Wednesday, a large catalogue was submitted to a good attendance. Competition was keen and every lot was sold. Prices were : — Butchers' crossbreds 2s 7d, 2s 9d, 3s to 3s 8d ; medium, Is 9d to 2s ; merino, Is lOd to 2s Id ; merino and crossbred pelts, 6d to 8d ; merino wool, 5d per lb ; trimmings, 2id to 3d per lb. Messrs D. Maclean and Co. report on the horse market at their yards on Saturday as follows: — We offered 28 draughts, light harness horses, and hacks, including a consignment of the former from Mr J. Cuff. Oamaru, who also brought forward a line of Ayrshire cows, in milk and to calve, all of which were sold at up to £9 each. The demand for horses has not improved much, and although there was a large attendance of farmers and others, bidding was slow. We sold medium to good draughts at £10 to £20,10s ; inferior and aged,£6to£9 ; springcart horses, £10 to £14; hacks, £8 to £14 for good sorts ; and for light and weedy, £3 to £6 10s.
