(By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, June 2. A meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union was held last night. Several members of the committee were of opinion that it would be an advantage if .Referees' Associations and Unions would take in hand the appointment of touch judges, as at present the position in regard to them was in many places most unsatisfactory. The chairman, Mr A. Wells (Auckland) thought that the referee should have the right to appoint touch judges. Mr VV. J. Strong, of Dunedin, was appointed a member of the appeal committee. It was decided to write to the Queensland Union, advising that a team should leave Sydney in the Monowai for Auckland on August sth, playing their first match in Auckland on the 10th August.
