All cyclists are requested to muster at Shepherd's corner at 10 a.m. on 22d inst., lo form in procession and rido to tho sports ground. A potato grown by Mr Agnew at Pleasant Point reaches the enormous weight of silbs. The crop generally is much beyond an average, but tho specimen mentioned is probably unique. Members of Loyal Timaru Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0.F., are to meet at tho hall, Barnard Street, at 9.45 a.m., and all Foresters are to assemble at 10 o'clock to-morrow in readiness for tho Jubilee procession. The cantata " The Flower Queen " is to bo given by a specially trained choir, in the Oddfellows' Hall, Waimate, this evening. Provided tho weather is at all fino tho attendance is sure to be good. We are requested to state that the Garrison Corps will parado at 10.15 a.m. to-morrow, instead of 10.30 previously notified. Nos. 1 and drivers of tho O Battery will attend at the drill and hook in ready to turn out by 10 a.m. At the B. M. Court on Saturday before J. S. Beswick, Esq.. R. M., a man charged with lunacy was remanded until Thursday for medical treatment. Maurioo Salek wns granted a renewal of liis pawnbroker's license for 12 months. Wo loam from Mr F. W. Marchant, Engineer to the Harbour Board, that their electric light will be an additional attraction to tho pyrotechnic display to-morrow evening. The light has been overhauled, and on being tested on Saturday evening did very satisfactory work. Tho Mayoro«s of Waimate has, we learn, consented to plant the oak in the reserve, Waimate, on Wednesday next, the day of Waimate rejoicing, and the members of tho Volunteer Band have, with their usual kindness, consented to accompany tho children's procession. Sir George Grey has returned to Auckland and will open the Industrial Exhibition in that city tomorrow. On Saturday afternoon the adjourned meeting of the Jubilee Celebration Committeo was held in the Town Board office, Goraldine, Mr R. H. Pearpoint in the chair. It was decided to have a display of fireworks on Wednesday evening, and subscriptions to defray expenses were readily promised. A man named William King died very suddonly at tho Railway Boarding-house about 8 o'clock on Saturday night. Dr Hogg was called in soon after tho man took ill, and was present when Mr King died, but could not, of course, certify sb to the cause of death. An inquest will, therefore, be held at the Board-ing-house this morning at 11 o'clock. Mr W. M'Lean, has announced himself as a candidate for one of the Wellington seats (Thorndon) in opposition to Dr Newman. Mr M'Lean is a prominent man amongst tho spiritualists, though we hardly think that is a good recommendation on such an occasion. Knowing the constituency pretty woll wo should sny that ho has not tho slightest chance of success. A rehearsal of " God save tho Queen " wai held on Saturday at the Thealro Royal under tho direction of Mr Haigh. About 500 children from tho Public School and Waimatnitai attended. The performance was most satisfactory, showing that the teachers had been training tho youngsters very carefully. The effect of all these young voices in harmony on Jubilee day will certainly bo very fine. The Queen's Jubilee has been marked at Pleasant Point by an extension of tho school holidays to three weeks. At tho breaking up on Friday afternoon tho school committee assembled, and after brief addresses by the Revs. X. J. Smyth and W. White, and the Chairman, a distribution of lollies took place. A suitablo selection was sung by the children, and the proceedings were brought to a close by the singing of tho National Anthem and a round of hearty cheering for the Queen. The general public of the Point look forward to joiaing in tho demonstration in Timimi lomorrow and on Wednesday.
