N.E. winds m the extreme north ; N.W. gale over tho southern half of the North Island, and N.E. gale on the West Coast of the South Island. Australia— Generally fine. Slight depression with N.E. winds on the West Coast ; otherwise steady pressure, with N.W. winds, on the East Coast, and N.W. on the South Coast. Barometer. — In New Zealand : At Eussoll, 30.2 ; Wellington, 20.8 : Timaru, 29.3 ; Blnff, 29.0. In Australia : At Sydney, 30.0 ; Albany and Portland, 29.9 ; Hobart, 29.5.
