It bus been ascertained that the report that Mr Parnoll had been shot at was altogether unfounded. The Rev. Mr Shaw was accorded a public reception to-day at Exeter- Hall on his return from Madagascar. There was a very large attendance nf sympathisers and the general public. Mr Shaw gave a lengthy narrative of the treatment he received at the hands of the French naval authorities, showing ho had beeu subjected to considerable ill-usage on shore, and on board the war ships which took him to Reunion. The London Press aro unanimous m urging that Mr Shaw demand from the French Government reparation for the treatment he received. [Received 2.30. p.m., Sopt. 29th.] News is to hand of a fatal agrarian outrago m Ireland, the victim being a landlord m Mayo, named Mr Crotty. No clue to the perpetrator of the murder has been obtained. O'Donnell was again brought up at the. Bow street Police Court to-day. Mrs Carey gave evidence of the murder, and testified that O'Donnell, after he had committed the deed, stated he had been Bent out to assassinate Carey. Berlik, Sept. 28. The statue (Germania) which has been erected at Neiderwald was unveiled with great ceremony to-day by the Emperor William, m the presence of an immense concourse of people.
