LEVELS ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Levels District Road Board was held oa Monday • the Ist February. Present — Messrs P. B. Luxmoore (Chairman), E. G. Stevieker, and T. W. Hall. Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed. Correspondence : — A letter was read, received from the Secretary of the Tiinavu Jockey Club, requesting the road to be formed from the Mount Cook road to the race course gateway. Request not acceded to. A requisition was received from E. Elworthy, Esq., ana others, for forming a road past King's station, as the present road crossed private property. Resolved— " That the requisition from E. El worthy, Esq.,- aud others, he deferred until wore seasonable weather for the formation of the work." ; Resolved "That -the Engineer be authorised to expend a sum not exceeding Lls m reparing old main south road, and call for tenders for keeping the same iv repair by next meeting."' llesolved— "That the Engineer he instructed to call for tenders for the formation »f a culvert over the Taitarakiki creek. Tenders to be sent m to the Clerk to the Board by 4 o'clock on or before Monday the Bth instant." Resolved— " That the Chairman be requested to sign cheques for vouchers for works for the sum of A' 62 2a 6d." Uesiilved— "That the Chairman he requ«.*ted to apply to the Secretary for Public Works for the sum of £75 sterling, being the amount of Government grant for this district.", The meeting then adjourned until Monday the lirst of March.
