TIMARU MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

A meeting of the Council was held at the Club Hotel oil Thursday last. ■ There were present Messrs Stubbss, Healey, -Taylor, Turnbull, Cliff, Cardale, LeOren aud Melton. Proposed hy Mr Melton, seconded by Mr Taylor: — "That permission be granted to the Timaru Lauding and Shipping Company (Limited) to erect a capstan, sheds, &c, on the Beach, reserve, at the end of George street, for the purpose of carrying on their work, the validity of the said license to be at the risk of the licensee." Carried: Mr LeCren and MrStu,bbs called attention to the useless state of the pumps belonging to the Council.
