GAZETTES.

Two General Government Gazettes were issued on the 10th and 12th instants. ' The latter contains the following notices ot interest m this province : — A notice that the following Ordinances, passed by the Provincial Council of Canterbury, have been left by the Governor to their operation: — "The Timaru Landing Service Ordinance, 1865." The Stage Carriages Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1565 ;" "The Lyttelton Cemetery Reserve Ordinance, 1865;" "The German Bay Road Board Diversion Ordinance, 1865 ;" " The Education Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1865." Notice of the appointment of the following Registration Officers m this province : — W. H. Revell, for Westland ; B. Woolcombe, for Gladstone and Timaru; J. Birch, for Cheviot; W. B. Pauli, for Ashley; W. Donald, for Kaiapoi, Avon, City of Christchurch, Heathcote, Mount Herbert, Town of Lyttelton ; J. Watson, for Akaroa ; E. J. Lee, for the Selwyn and Coleridge. That D. Johnston, Esq., has been appointed Collector of Customs at Greymouth, and Licensing Officer under the Arms Act. Notice of the dissolution of partnership between J. C. Brooke and C. W. Wyatt as chemists and druggists since December 31, 1864.

The Gazette also contains a proclamation, that for every printed trade circular or prices current published m the colony and posted m New Zealand for any part of the colony or for places beyond seas, shall be charged one penny postage ; gold "lining lease regulations within the district of the Nelson goldlields ; cal) for tenders for reporting and printing the debates during the next session of the General Assembly ; and several appointments and public notices of interest only to those concerned. The Gazette of the 10th consists of a series of rules and regulations for the management of the lines of electric telegraph belonging to the General Government. A tariff of charges is appended, from which we take the following, being the ordinary rates from Timaru to the different stations. It will be observed that a very great reduction has been made.
