It is proposed to have two lirst-class steamers (screw) built, with carrying capacity, one of 1.1(1 and the other of 230 tons, and* comfortable accommodation for passengers. Tin; smaller one for the Southern trade and the larger one for the Northern trade ; the former to be built m Sydney and the latter on the Clyde. Ie is also purposed to take over the river steamer " Tuapeka" at a valuation, to run on the Molyueux m conjunction with the Southern steamer. Moiv than three-fourths (3-4tb.s) of the capital has already been subscribed, and taken up principally by Merchants and others directly interested m tlie trade of the various ports.
