An accident occurred to the Karangaliake coach oil Thursday morning, though luckily not with serious results. The coach was coming to Paeroa from Karangahake, and when near Buchanan's bridge one of the front wheels came- off, and the coach was upset, throwing the passengers out into the .road. Beyond a few bruises and being covered in mud, 110 one was injured. Mr Jones, of Jones and Sanderson, has taken out an auctioneer's license, and intends holding periodical sales of furniture, produce, etc,, in Te Arolia, Wailii, and Paeroa. He is having a mart crected in Wharf street, Paeroa. I feel sure this branch of Mr Jones' business will be a great public convenience. Mr MoAndi'Cw lias obtained the contract for building Ilallenstein Bros', now .shop in Nonuanby road. The contract price is £350, and the shop will prove a very handsome addition to the township. On Tuesday evening, while the p. Patiki was lying at the Junction Wharf, landing,one of two stamper boxes 011 board for the Talisman Co., weighing two tons each, her mast broke off a few inches from the deck, and in falling the men who were working below had a very narrow escape from being killed. The steamer was detained there for nearly six hours restepping her mast, and did not get up to the Paeroa wharf till a very early hour ou Wednesday morning. One of our oldest identities, Mr John James Turner, passed 'away .on Friday at the ripe age of 75. Mr Turner had resided in % distvict over 30 years,
