THE WAIKATO REVIEW.

Inn following officers met at the Pacific Hotel last night, under the presidency of Major Murray, to make final arrangements relative to the Easter campaign :—Capt. Wildman, Naval Brigade ; Captain t'niall, Lieutenants Barlow and Den by, of the Engineers; Captain Watson and Lieutenant Dey, of tho Scottish Captain Farrell, of the Eangers; Captain Taipari, Native Corps; Captains Mcnnie and Savage, Cadets; aud Drill-Instructor Grant. Major Murray stated that he was sorry to havo to acquaint them that the Government steamer would not be available for tho transit. Captain Watson had therefore boen detailed to make arrangements with Captain Farquhar for the conveyanco of the men to and from I Auckland in tho ' Kotomahana.' Major Murray said it would be advisable for officers commanding companies to instruct their men to tako their breakfasts with them for Sunday morning, as there would bo no lime in Auckland for partaking of a meal. Each company would also do well to provide for the transit of their blankets or other baggago to the steamer, and from the steamer to the train. A non-commissioned officer from each corps should be detailed for this purpose The American style of carrying the blankets was suggested, but did n :t meet with general approval, and was discarded. Prom what we can learn, the feeling in Hamilton is eminently favourable on the subject of tho visit, although the same cannot bo said of the Auckland poople. Kb cold water will, however, deter our Thames men from their object, when they havo fully made up their minds. In this matter all—Navals, Natives, and Riflos—are agreed that to the Waikato they will go, consequently evory effort is being made by the officers to ronder the expedition an enjoyable one to their men and the expenditure as reasonable as possible.
