ARBITRATION MACHINERY.
COMPLAINT OF DELAY. Fer Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 20. A representative Labour deputation waited upon the Minister of Labour today in connection with Arbitration Court matters. Tho deputation, which was introduced by Mr. Fraser, M.P., protested against delay in the Arbitration Court
sittings in tho chief centres, and also ■ against delay in giving a decision in respect to the cost of living bonus. Objection was taken to tho fact that tho president of the court frequently sat on the Court bench, instead of giving priority to the work of the Arbitration Court. It was admitted the court was overworked, but tiie deputation suggested that tho situation could be overcome if further clerical assistapee were given to the Registrar. Sir William Herries, in reply, said 1 he would make representations to tho Minister of Justice regarding the clashing of the work of tho Arbitration Court and the Supreme Court. The matter ■ of providing clerical assistance for the
Registrar was one that could easily be rectified, and would be rectified if inquiries showed the need.
