CASES AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 20. At the Supreme Court a decree nisi was granted in the case of James Matthew Buckley, a baker, in which Christian Peter Hansen was co-respondent, with £SOO damages and custody of the children. In the case of Alfred Percy Dare, against whom a charge of manslaughter was withdrawn, and a verdict of guilty of mischief was returned, Mr. Justiso Stringer commented on the accused’s wild driving of a misappropriated mo-tor-car, resulting in the death of Horton at Penrose on February 2. As accused’s character was otherwise exceedingly good he was granted probation for three years on condition lie paid for the damages to the motor and the bicycle (£SO), and costs £ls, his amusements and associates to be approved by the probation officer. Alfred John Neath, who married a Scotch’ girl at Wellington while his lawful wife was alive, received two years’ reformative treatment.
