DECREASE OF INFLUENZA. The position in regard to tho influenza epidemic that Iras recently passed over tire country is rendered much brighter by the figures for the. past week. These show a large decrease upon the report for the previous week The influenza cases notified in the Taranaki district were;— Taranaki 20 (1 pneumonic). Stratford 26 (1 pneumonic). Hawera 25 (all mild). Patea 13 (all mild). The following cases of other infectious diseases were notified in the Taranaki district during the week ended on Monday ; Taranaki.—Scarlet fever 2, varicella 2. Stratford.—Diphtheria 1, pneumonia 1. varicella Hawera. —Diphtheria 2, varicella 1.
