SHIPPING FOR MEAT.
A HOPEFUL OUTLOOK,
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Juno 8
The supply of shipping' for frozen cargo from New Zealand has boon extraordinarily good ever since the British Government began to make its serious effort to take away from this country the accumulations of meat in celd store. . ■ The Prime Minister said to-day that evor since thy congestion in England was. overcome the supply of ships appeared to have boon very good, and it was keeping up very well indeed. If tho present rate should bo sustained the quantity of mutton ill tho stores at the beginning of next season, or at the end of tho calendar year, would certainly not be more than tho estimated quantity ho had given to tho conference of producers in Wellington some two weeks ago. That estimate was 2,600,000 carcases, but some of the shipping moil at the conference had sain that they would be able to do better than this.
It appeared now that they might do so. Tho ships in sight for June loading provide for 505,000 carcases, and for July- loading 992,000 carcases. There are also a mini her of ships, some of which have already arrived, which are not included in this reckoning. They will take cargo also in Juno and July.
