The weather was lino and tue going fast. Tuero was a large attendance ana speculation was brisk, over izu,OoU being put through tlio totausaior. Ecus curried twice the amount ol money carried by Prince Delaware, Riouzi and Xiamawa wfircu wore Packed level. In tue Hack Hurdles tnc favourite was lirst out, ana, attended by iiautawa and Prince Delaware, led until tnreo furlongs from homo. Here lie was passed by Prince Delaware, which ‘had tho race won at_ the last hurdle, but ho ran oil", giving M'Sweeney a heavy fall. This leit Zeus wuh a commanding lead, but ho had to be ridden out to beat Hautawa. Tessarcs carried almost a tiiiid of the amount invested on the Trial Piate, Slio was caught in the tapes at the start and lost zO lengths, but her rider foolishly went after the field, and at tho finish she wa» right up filth. Kiusem was lirst out, and, attended by AH Cense, led till heads were turned for homo. Here Gasbag appeared on the scene, and going on, won easily. This is a promising colt. Just on £IOOO was invested on the chief event, of which Crcnidcs with over £7OO, Hurry Up with just under £(100, find Oratress with £SOO odd were the best-backed. At the barrier rise Penury Rose was first to lead, ami with Crenides at her girths and Rose Wreath next sho led out of the straight. This was tho order till tho four-furlong post, at which stage, Crenides took the lead while Demos and Oratress improved their positions. Tho favourite was first to turn for home, but a furlong from the post Demos looked a Vinner, when Crenides, vigorously ridden, responded gamely and won'by a neck. Oratress finished well in third place. Admyra, who moved well in her preliminary, was entrusted with just on £IOOO iu the Grandstand, Bay berry and Admiral Advance, with £3OO odd, being tho only others supported. Silver Tongue and Aiatty were in front over the lirst furlong, and this was the oruer till timed furlongs from home, at which stage Admyra went back, and Aiatty headed Sliver Tongue iu the straight and won easily, returning a. big dividend. Torlroda was a pronounced favourite for the. Electric Piate, birt she drew tho outside and did not begin as quickly as usual. Trenthara Rose soon opened up a gap with Bindle, Torfrcua, and Arch Lassie following. Once heads were turned for _ homo Gray brought Vagabond up with _a great run, but failed to catch Trentham Bose. Lionskin finished well, and should bo handy to-morrow. Bindlo may also do hotter. Solid support came for Statuette, ridden by Oliver in the Plying Hack. Those well-in-formed backed tho imported Arrowsmith and were rewarded with a lair dividend. Tho favourite had every chanco but it is not in the same class as the winner who will win good handicaps when seasoned. Swaneo River ran a good race into fourth place, but the imported horse won pulling up. Nothing was wanted but Simonides in tho Welter. Ho drew the fence and began well being on Goklshiue’s quarters, which led up tho back. _ At the four-furlong post Gray steadied tho favourite and allowed Goldshine and Gold Problem to open up a big break. Simonides then got into trouble, and his rider pulled him back and brought him in with a fine run on the outside, but tho winner had too big a load and won nicely. Alakepeace carried £llOO out of the £4OOO odd put through on tho last race, but La Puceile, War Star, and Halcyon wore well supported. Some Girl was first to find her feet, and with Wapping and Alakepeaco led round the bend. Here tho favourite made her effort but failed by a length. Halcyon finished very fast with Woodlark fourth.
