MAILS BY AIR FROM AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 11. Walsh Bros., of Kohimarama (Auckland) Flying School, have submitted to the Postmaster-General proposals embodying a series of test flights by seaplane between Auckland and such provincial towns as Dargaville, Whangarei, and Thames. They propose to leave Auckland on scheduled time after the closing- of the mail, and carrying some 801 b. weight of mails, and proceed to the destination decided upon. For the journey to Whangarei, the promoters estimate to cover the distance in 1£ hours, and to Thames in 45 minutes. The proposal has been considered by the Minister, and as an outcome, flights will bo made during January, which probably is most settled month as far "as weather is concerned in the northern centre.
