SATURDAY COMPETITION. PLAY STOPPED BY RAIN. The playing off of the cricket fixtures was commenced on Saturday afternoon, but was stopped about the middle of the afternoon by rain. In, the Freezing Works-Old Boys’ match at Pukekura Park, Bottrill and Osborne opened the Old Boys’ innings, and had made 16 and 21 respectively when play had to cease. In the incompleted match between High School and Tikorangi, the latter secured sufficient runs to place them ahead of the total of 184 compiled by HigTi School on the first day. In the junior match, Waireka v. Whitelcy, the former had secured 90 runs for the loss of five * wickets.
