THE WAIMARINO.

ONLY SURVIVOR OF SIX SHIPS. Per Press Association. 1 WELLINGTON, April 25. The Waimarino, which arrived on Wednesday night from Newcastle, berthed this morning. She has been absent from these waters for two years and two months, and has been engaged mainly in Convoy work in the Mediterranean. She had numerous fights with submarines, but was never hit. She is the sole survivor of six “W” ships—the Waikawa, Waihemo, Waitemata, Wairuna and Waitota having beep destroyed or captured.
