This morning a couple of bathers on the East End beach who were taking a inn towards the Waiwakaiho saw a hare on the sand in front of them. On their approach it lay down, and. they waited to see what it would do. To their surprise it made straight for the sea and proceeded to have a swim. One of the bathers followed it, brought it out and set it free. In the circumstances the hare had no need to go into the water, and the theory is that it had .just come for its usual morning dip like other energetic East-enders. The suggestion that it was frightened and lost its bearings is much less attractive. Empirin Tabloids obtainable from the ■3 a vies Pharmacy.
