THE CLOSING OF HOTELS.

RESOLUTIONS BY PROHIBITIONISTS. BT ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.— COPYRIGHT. (Received Nov. 2, 8.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 2. An indignation meeting in the Town Hall passed a resolution expressing strong indignation at the Government’s proposal for dealing with the liquor problem and urging that nothing less than six o’clock closing would be effective- Failing that the resolution demanded a referendum on the question. The Rev. Mr. Hoban, in the course of a fiery speech, said; “I impeach the Government as unpatriotic. X don’t say they arc pro-German, but the practical result of this -legislation is proGerman.” He bitterly attacked Mr. Holman for his recent attitude. ' The meeting adopted a resolution moved by the Rev. Mr. Hammond pledging each man not to vote for any politician who would not pledge himself to a referendum on the early clos-’ ing of hotels.
