LEPPERTON.

TOOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. Sept. IS.—One of the very best school oonoerts ever held iioro took place last evening. Words fail me to sufficiently applaud the efforts of the children. I certainly never before heard them sing so strictly in tune as was the case last evening. This speaks volumes for the musical ability of Mr. and Mrs. Brown and Mis. Stafford. Parents in this district are exceedingly fortunate with regard to the tuiffon our children are receiving, as was evidenced by the very excellent inspector’s report for the year as read by Mr. H. B. Lepper last evening. Very particularly do I wish to mention the instruction in needlework given by MrsStafford. Acoompanrmon ts were well played during the evening by MrsBrown, Mrs. Stafford and Miss Meado. Three ringing cheers were given for the Huirangi performers, whose performance of “The Bobby’s Courtship” was ■■'uite a treat.

Paul; concerted recitations, juniors; round, “Who’ll Buy?” juniors; concerted recitation, “Aunt Jan,” junior girls; barnyard song, juniors; pianoforte duet, “The Minstrel Boy,” Mrs. Stafford and Miss E.
