It was further stated that the lode had been traced for two miles, and that the country had been pegged north and south for several miles. Information has now come to hand that samples of the ore treated by competent Sydney assayists ranged from 871oa. to IhoOoz. ot silver; from Idwt. 17gr. to 4oz. ol gold; from i'J per cent, to 15 per cent, ol copper; and from 16 per cent, to 56 per cent, of lead. It is stat'd that the discovery was made by .some experienced silver-lead minors, and that cm February 7 they made their application, thus gning them power to star,, operations. Within a week from that date they had broken aml bagged 5 lons of ore, cleared a bullock track six miles through (he forest, and sent the ore to the Cockle Creek Smelting Works, The pared reached those works two or three days ago, and will bo sampled during the current week.
