ALLEGED FORGERY. Per Press Association Wellington, Oct. 26. ißobert Ernest Rowell and Raymond Saunders, two ‘youths arrested in Christchurch, were charged at the Police Court to -day With forging the naino of Eric Walter Arron on a post office savings bank withdrawal receipt for £B, and littering the same to Francis Taylor Bennington. Saunders, boarded in the same house as Arroh, who kept his bank book in a, portmanteau, which one of the accused succeeded !h opening; Powell iorged the Signature and offered Saunders half the money, which the latter refused to take. Both accused pleaded guilty, arid were committed sentence. In accordance with the decision of Judge Williams, Saunders was admitted to bail as there was a reasonable probability that he would be admitted to probation.
