BUTTER AND CHEESE. Following is ■ Mr. Newton King’s weekly butter and cheese report ironi Messrs. R. and \V. Davidson, ot London and Glasgow, under date September 15;— CONTINENTAL BUTTERS. Our market this week shows a decidedly better feeling, and strictly choicest butter has ueen fairly well cleared at, in some cases, Is over last week. Our telegraphic advices from Copenhagen state that the market there has also an improved tendency, and the quotation to-day has been declared unchanged. Danisn and Swedish. —The total arrivals ot Danish to this country this week again show a decrease of 392 casks. The market is. slightly tirmor, and choicest quality has been fairly Well cleared. There is still a lair quantity of faulty quality being marketed. We quote strictly choicest H7s to 118 s. Siberian. The arrivals this week were about the same as last. The demand for really fancy goods shows a slight improvement, and prices for this grade may be quoted Is to 2s higher,. Medium ami interior qualities continue rather dull, and prices on this grade remain unchanged. Our Siberian wires report the market there as being still firm. AVe quote fancy quality lU6s to 108 s, medium 100 s to 104 s, and inferior 98s. ' French.—The prices to-day are expected to he advanced 4s for nnsaltcd baskets and 2s for salted baskets. The trade in this country does not at present warrant these advances, but agents have been compelled to make them owing to tho high prices which have been ruling in France. W T o quote; Extra mild baskets 112 s up to 116 s, finest 104 s to 110 s, good to tine 96s to 100 s, lower grades 90s to 925. IRISH CREAMERY BUTTER. The demand has ruled steady. Prices roinain practically uncharged, choicest salted 113 s to 114 s, choicest unsalted 115 s. COLONIAL BUTTERS. Australian.—Thd s.s. Mongolia has docked this week with fully 2000 boxea on board ; included in this quantity are several brands of now season’s Arictorian. These butters, we believe, are showing exceptional quality, and importers are asking 114 s to 116 s for same, at which figures tlio demand is somewhat slow. Sbuth Australian and Queensland dnitters have been offering at 110 s to 112 s. New Zealand.—There is still nothing on tho market. Nominal quotation 116 s. * CANADIAN BUTTER." Tho demand for spot goods at present is very poor Current quotations 114 s to 115 s. IMPORTS TO THE UNITED KINGDOM, Tho total imports from Tamiary 1 to week ending September 10' for the last four years are as follows; 3,210,061 cwt. ; 1908. 3.090,278ewt.; 1909,3,026,073 cwt.; 1910, 3,131,315 cwt. CHEESE. Canadian.—The demand during tho past week has boon somewhat brisker. Prices are firm, strictly choicest quality 54s to 555. • , ’ New Zealand.—There is very little now offering. The demand is somewhat disappointing, and it is difficult to make over 57s cither for coloured or white. lAI PORTS TO THE UNITED KINGDOM. The total imports from January 1 to week ending September 10 for the last four vears are as follows: 1.585.864ewt. ; 1908, 1,543,443ewt. ; 1909,1,582,650 cwt.; 1910, 1,G23,397cwt.
